Pray and Purchase

Print Friendly

We moved out of The Well in Bray on 30 September 2014. God had been speaking to us through many prophetic words about moving on, so that is what we have done. We feel like Abraham who ‘… went out, not knowing where he was going’ [Hebrews 11: 8]. We will be meeting as community in different ways until the new year when we trust God will again open the door to a more permanent home.  But we do continue to pray for the town of Bray, its businesses and its people.

Some of our congregation regularly go out to pray in the town of Bray. We walk around the streets and pray, particularly for the local businesses. We believe this Bible verse from Deuteronomy 8: 18:

Remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth …..

Some comments from businesspeople whom we have been supporting:

“A heartfelt thank you to everybody for your prayers and support throughout the year.  It’s nice to know people genuinely care”  David, Mrs McGuire’s Sweet Shop

“Some people prayed for me in my shop and I was healed of a kidney infection.  I now have peace in my heart”  Joanna, Fashion Flowers

“In these difficult times, it’s great to know that people are praying for us and our business”  Pauline and Linda, La Belle Gift Shop

We enjoy doing our shopping or having some refreshments in the town, in keeping with our Pray and Purchase motto!

In November 2012, we hosted an hour of Christmas Cheer for businesspeople in Bray, with mellow music, mulled wine & canapés, and inspirational encouragement.
